UNCLASSED CHOROPLETH MAP

This is an unclassed choropleth map of the number of acres harvested for vegetables in the United States in 2002. Taken from: http://www.nass.usda.gov/research/atlas02/Crops/Vegetables%20and%20Melons%20Harvested/Vegetables,%20Acres%20Harvested%20for%20Sale-choropleth%20map.gif

This is the least accepted way of mapping because it is said the cartographer "loses the ability to direct the message of communication." Shadings that are proportional to the values in the data are assigned for this type of map.
